Looking at these pictures, I definitely see the stark contrast between my real and ideal self.
In the first one, the vibrant color, crazy facial expression, and funky hair flip allows you to see the real me, in all my outrageousness. The funny thing about this picture is that during the photoshoot, we were trying to get a shot of me laughing, but I felt so awkward posing for a fake candid. This was the one shot that I let my true emotions free and just gave the camera some sassafrass. I think I recognize my sass in this image as the epitome of the real me.
The second image shows my ideal self, the part of me that is expected in order to be successful in society. When I look at this image, I see myself as poised, postured, and knowingly posed. I look like I am self-assured and confident, even when I know that people are looking at me. I think the color contrast between the two images effectively portrays how lifeless the posed ideal self is compared to the vivacious real me.
